Coalition to Save Lake Winnipeg(CSLW)

This is a grass roots organization that was initiated by the HBCA Board back in the summer of 2018 when we organized, and paid for, an information sharing session held in Grand Marais.  We invited several speakers and sent out posters and promotional emails to Cottage Associations in the East & West Beaches.  We called the initiative "Unite the Beaches". This first meeting was very well attended, and we were then contacted by East Beaches Associations and West Side Beaches Associations interested in working together to protect / promote the health of Lake Winnipeg.

In 2019, we held a large public meeting in the City of Winnipeg on the health of Lake Winnipeg, and had over 200 people attend. We adopted the name "Coalition to Save Lake Winnipeg" or CSLW and have been working and advocating for the health of our beloved lake ever since.

The Coalition to Save Lake Winnipeg is a collaboration of communities in the South Basin of Lake Winnipeg. The CSLW includes individual citizens, Cottage Associations from the east and west sides of Lake Winnipeg, Rural Municipality representatives and the Manitoba Cottagers Association.
